We watch them, each through our own windows.
I see her as she was yesterday; small and lost.
Her coaches see her as she is now; focused and capable.
It’s hard for me to let go of what I know about who she was.
It’s hard to see her as she will be tomorrow.
It is hard to step back and trust.
And I wonder, what is it that they see when they press their noses to the glass?
Do the reflections of the woman standing behind them overlay the landscape like clouds?
Or are they able to look beyond our cover & see the sky for what it really is?
Wild and blue.
