What a I remember is the sleeping car gliding through the blue of predawn.
On all sides the salt flats stretching out like a white sea.
When the sun rose we were well beyond the state line.
Beach and BC slept away the hours while I drove. That was Saturday morning.
We were one of the last 2 families from the gym to head out.
We stopped in Mills for breakfast at a truck stop café;
loaded up on coffee and greasy food.
From there we left the road to adventure.
Paradise Valley
We were the last family to roll into town but I think we were all okay with that.
